Ergo-Power Starts at Siemens Energy Warehouses

Siemens Energy’s warehouse, the hub for gas and steam turbine components and spare parts, is embarking on an ergonomic transformation. By partnering with Ergo-ology, the facility aims to boost throughput while easing the physical strain on employees who handle heavy loads and navigate complex material flows.

Drawing on Ergo-ology’s Holistic Ergo Program, built around eight systematic pillars, the Siemen’s team will kick off with “Training and Awareness.” This first phase launches immersive Bootcamps designed to reshape manual material handling habits. Participants master 7 key Manual Material Handling techniques in a hands-on session (“Learn It”), navigate a customized obstacle course that mirrors real-world challenges (“Do It”), and then review video footage to pinpoint and correct their own movements (“See It”).

Parallel to training, Siemens Energy will host a series of Ergo-Kaizen events. Cross-functional teams will map existing motion patterns and material routes, apply value-stream mapping, and run quick-win workshops to eliminate wasted steps. This lean-ergonomics fusion generates immediate wins—shorter travel paths, smoother handoffs, and reduced bending or twisting.

By late 2025, the data harvested from Bootcamps and Kaizen workshops will fuel digital simulations of workstations and workflow layouts. As 2026 unfolds, #simulation insights will guide the installation of targeted engineering controls—lift-assist devices, conveyors, workstation height adjustments, and custom material-handling aids—to maximize efficiency and further shrink injury risk.
Underpinning every technical upgrade is a drive for culture and behavior change. Leadership at Siemens Energy will reinforce new practices through ongoing coaching, performance metrics tied to ergonomic goals, and peer recognition programs that celebrate teams who adopt safer, smarter ways of working.

Through this phased, data-driven journey, spanning focused training, lean improvements, simulation, and engineering implementation; Siemens Energy is setting a new benchmark. The facility expects to see measurable gains in productivity, tangible reductions in musculoskeletal disorders, and a resilient culture of continuous improvement that can scale across the global Siemens Energy network.
